If you’re able to pre-pack a few road-trip snacks, look for non-perishable foods that will last an entire car trip. These foods require zero to little prep work, are easy to store and provide an ample helping of the nutrients you need for game day.
• Beef jerky
• Packets of tuna/chicken
• Peanut butter
• Nuts
• Dried fruit
• Applesauce
• Crackers
• Trail mix
• Dry cereal
• Oatmeal
• Powdered sports drink mix
• Pretzels
Need to gain lean weight or cut fat to stay on top of your training regimen? Work with a sports dietitian during the off-season to strategize on adjusting your fueling strategy and calorie intake. If you establish a good fuel plan, your body will be better accustomed to it once it’s game-time again.
