Texans add Jeff Garcia

The Texans pick up a veteran QB to help fill out the lineup.

Not content with merely adding Jake Delhomme to back up rookie quarterback T.J. Yates, the Houston Texans signed veteran quarterback Jeff Garcia on Tuesday.

They cut third-string quarterback Kellen Clemens.

Garcia is a former starter for the San Francisco 49ers and the Cleveland Browns who has also played for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Texans also signed veteran punter Matt Turk, who was last with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
