Triple-A -- Iowa Cubs
Redbirds Top Cubs In Series Opener Memphis: 5, Iowa: 4
Iowa scored four runs on Cardinals' top prospect Shelby Miller, but it wasn't enough. Memphis plated two runs in the fifth ining, the difference in a 5-4 win over the Cubs. Travis Wood (L, 1-3) was tagged with the loss, allowing five earned runs in five innings. Nate Robertson, Frank Batista and Jeff Beliveau each worked a scoreless, hitless inning in relief.
Iowa secondbaseman Adrian Cardenas hit his second home run of the season. Anthony Rizzo chipped in with a pair of hits and RBIs. He now has knocked in 23 runs this season, and his batting average currently stands at .384.

High-A -- Daytona Cubs
Four-Run Eighth Leads Lakeland By Daytona Lakeland: 8, Daytona: 6
A pair of eighth inning, two-out, two-run singles were the difference in Lakeland's come-from-behind victory over Daytona in the getaway day matinee. Eduardo Figueroa (L, 2-2) was tagged with three runs while retiring just one out. Tony Zych was charged with a blown save.
All nine of Daytona's starters recorded a hit -- 14 total in the ballgame. Rubi Silva led the way offensively, posting three hits and two RBIs in the contest. Cubs starter Frank Del Valle did not factor in the decision, working five innings and allowing just two runs.

Low-A -- Peoria Chiefs
Hot Start Fronts Fort Wayne Fort Wayne: 8, Peoria: 4
Gerardo Concepcion did not escape the first inning in his second minor-league start. He allowed seven runs on five hits, recording just two outs, and was tagged with his second loss. Concepcion allowed five earned runs in his first outing, last week.
The Chiefs' bullpen combined to allow just one run in 7.1 innings of relief work, but Peoria could not overcome the deficit. Zeke DeVoss, Rafael Lopez, Paul Hoilman and Ryan Cuneo each recorded two-hit games for the Chiefs.
