Rained out: Tripleheader on Thursday

South Carolina and Kent State will have to wait another day to collide in elimination game at the CWS to decide who will face Arkansas later Thursday.

OMAHA, Neb. – Ernie Banks has nothing on the 2012 College World Series.

Day 6 of the CWS was washed out by rain Wednesday and now there are three games scheduled Thursday as the five remaining teams move toward the semifinal round.

Wednesday's game between two-time champion South Carolina and Kent State was rained out after heavy rain showers began in the downtown Omaha area right after 5 p.m. and let up briefly before another steady downpour began around 8 p.m.

The Gamecocks (47-19) and Golden Flashes (46-18) will play at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the winner of that game slated to come back and meet Arkansas (46-20) at 8 p.m. Florida State (50-16) and Arizona (45-17) take the TD Ameritrade Park diamond at 4 p.m.

All three games will be carried on ESPN2.

Arizona and Arkansas sit in the CWS driver's seat, needing just one more win to claim a spot in the best-of-three national championship series.

There are two if-necessary game scheduled for 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday if either Arizona or Arkansas loses on Thursday.
