6-foot-2, 275 pound defensive tackle Brant Gressel committed to Iowa in April. After making his decision, he was able to focus on enjoying his final high school season.
"We (Centerville High School) went 6-4 and unfortunately didn't make the playoffs, but we finished strong after a slow start."
Even though his team started off slow, Gressel took time improving his skills during his games.
"I played well this season. I got double teamed a lot this year so it was harder to make plays, but it was a good year overall. I got to play on a defensive line with, in my opinion, four Division I players which was a treat. I improved my pass rush and my pass blocking when I played on offense."
With his high school career over, the DT is looking forward to his next chapter at Iowa.
"My relationship with the Hawkeyes has been very good. They're the only team I talk to. I went out for the Penn State game and everything was great. I got to talk with some of the coaches before the game and being on the field for pre-game was cool too."
