Marshall Visits MSU, Lands Spartan Offer

Southfield (Mich.) junior defensive end Lawrence Marshall picks up a Michigan State offer during his visit.

Michigan State extended an offer to one of the top juniors in their home state yesterday when Southfield High junior defensive end Lawrence Marshall picked up a Spartan offer.

"Coach Dantonio talked to me said we'd like to offer you scholarship to Michigan State," the 6'4, 220-lb prospect says. "I like the coaches a lot. Coach Salem, I like him and Coach Dantonio and the D-line coach."

As for the game itself, Marshall has been to Michigan State before, but he got to see a Big Ten atmosphere yesterday.

"It was nice. I wish they could have come out with the win. I liked it a lot. It was nice, loud, and I liked the fans and everything."

Marshall has offers from Indiana, San Diego State, Bowling Green and Toledo as well as the Spartans, and right now, denies any favorites.

"I like all the schools. I don't have a top five or anything. I'm just taking it slow."

As for more visits, he says, "I believe I'm going to Toledo this Tuesday. Toledo has a game Tuesday and I might go to that."
