Practice Report: 11/5

There was a new, yet familiar face working with the wide receivers today--Chris Black. The true freshman injured his shoulder in fall camp and hasn't practiced since, but he was running routes with a black no-contact jersey Monday.

It was cloudy and cold Monday afternoon as No. 1 Alabama began preparing for No. 15 Texas A&M. With the clocks turning back this weekend, it was already getting dark at 4:30, so the team was practicing under the lights.

The media was granted just one period—about five minutes—to watch practice. Here are some notes:

--The biggest and most glaring observation was a new, yet familiar face working with the receivers. True freshman Chris Black, who injured his shoulder during fall camp and hasn't played one snap for Alabama, was practicing in a black no-contact jersey. He was running routes and catching balls. As you can tell from the video below, he's moving pretty well.

--A.J. McCarron was not wearing his knee brace. Instead, he just had his right knee wrapped up. He wasn't limited in any way.

--Amari Cooper (ankle), who didn' play much and had zero catches against LSU Saturday, was practicing as head coach Nick Saban said he would earlier this morning as his press conference.

--Eddie Lacy (ankle) was not wearing a no-contact jersey, but he was limited during media viewing. Saban said he "tweaked" his ankle this weekend and would probably be fine by tomorrow.
