Arizona commit to check out Washington

San Diego (Calif.) Madison running back Pierre Cormier gave a commitment to Arizona last August but always said he wanted to take some of his official visits and he'll take No. 1 this weekend to Washington.

Pierre Cormier is one of the elite running backs in the West. He's an explosive player, great in the open field but tough enough to run between the tackles as well.

Arizona had been a long time leader for Cormier before he committed late in the summer. He'll still hit the road for some official trips starting this week to Seattle.

"I'm going to Washington to see them play Utah," Cormier said. "They offered me in June and have been recruiting me hard for a while so I wanted to give them a look. I'm going to take visits to Nebraska and Oregon State too but I haven't set those dates yet. Hopefully by next week I'll have them locked up."

As for his commitment to Arizona, Cormier said Cats fans have nothing to worry about.

"I'm very happy with my commitment to Arizona," Cormier said. "I've watched them a lot this season and I really like the offense a lot. They're definitely going in the right direction and I'm excited about how I would fit in with that offense.

"I already talked to them about taking my trips and they're fine with it. I'm going to visit Arizona for sure, that will be my last one. I think they wanted to make sure they could be my last visit and I get that. My commitment is solid, I just want to take the trips just to see these other schools have to offer. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit these campuses but I like Arizona a lot, no doubt there."
