Cortez recently spoke with Georgia Tech coaches, Brian Bohannon and Joe Speed. "Both of them really like my highlight film and want to see me around the school." Cortez has been invited to the Duke game. "I will attend. I am very interested in Georgia Tech."
McDowell also received an invitation to attend the Tech summer camp. "I attended a camp at Georgia Tech my freshman year and I really liked it there." Cortez told Coach Bohannon and Coach Speed that he would be attending the camp.
On his recent trip to Georgia, McDowell received an offer. "I was happy to get the offer and it put Georgia towards the top of my school list." Cortez and his family like the idea of being able to play close to home.
Like the offer from Georgia, an offer from Georgia Tech would also put them at the top of his list. "I really loved it there the times I have been to Georgia Tech. Like Georgia, Tech is close to home."
A Georgia Tech-Georgia decision would not be an easy one for Cortez, but he knows what the deciding factor would be. "It would boil down to which school would give me the best education." McDowell knows that depth charts and playing time are really up to the player so that won't play a big role in his decision.
Cortez has an idea when he might make his decision but he knows things could change. "Right now I am going to play in the Junior Bowl after the season is over and I will sit down with my parents and look over the schools that have offered me and see if I can make a decision from them."
There is also the possibility that Cortez might wait longer to see if he receives more offers. "I do know that I will have a decision made before my senior year of high school."
