On a team filled with defensive talent, 2013 inside backer Castille Bayers of Denver Mullen stands out. The 6-2 230 pound 2013 prospect is the current tackle leader for the Mustangs . Applying an old schools mentality between the tackles, Bayers uses physical play and savvy to limit runners. So far this season Bayers has registered over 100 tackles to go with four sacks and an interception.
Bayers, who is receiving DI attention but has yet to garner an offer, says he has official visits set up with Wyoming and New Mexico after the season. Bayers also reports he has gained recent interest from Illinois. Members of the Illini staff plan on making a visit to Mullen in December and Bayers is looking into a visit.
A big backer, Bayers is rugged against the run and is best suited to play on the inside. He is also solid in pass coverage in zone situations. Bayers is an extremely physical player and he looks capable of handling the rigors of playing between the tackles at the college level.
