Dixon is focused

Johnnie Dixon has some big schools after him, but right now he's just trying to focus on his season. The 2014 wide receiver of Dwyer (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) says he and his team have one thing on the brain – a state championship. He's still keeping in contacts with some schools and you can get the latest right here.

Johnnie Dixon has offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, West Virginia, South Florida, and more. He and his Dwyer team are now 8-2 after losing a close one to undefeated American Heritage (Delray Beach, FL) last Friday.

"Nothing's really new, just working with my team, trying to get better," Dixon said.

"We are not losing again, we made a team promise. We are trying to make it to state like we did couple of years ago. We've fallen short the past two years, it doesn't feel good."

While Dixon's main focus is on winning a state championship, he's still hearing from a handful of schools.

"Miami, Alabama, Florida. Florida State has been sending me a lot of mail," he said.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound wide receiver and some of his teammates took in Miami a couple weeks ago when they welcomed Florida State.

"It was a good atmosphere, I went down there with a couple of my teammates and we had fun," he said.

"They have a good thing going on right now. With all the young players, in the future, it's going to be a good team."

There are plenty of other schools Dixon wants to visit in the future, but he plans to start planning those after his season.

"I want to get to West Virginia, Alabama, and Ohio State. Oregon needs to offer me because I want to get up there too," he said.

"I'll probably think about those things later on, right now it's all football."
