Johnson Focused On Three

The Fresno (Calif.) Central cornerback, Johnny Johnson, is still focused on a trio of Pac-12 schools...

Fresno (Calif.) Central cornerback Johnny Johnson (5-9, 180), continues to have three schools standing out, and he's got plans to visit two of them in the coming months.

For Johnson, a busy spring and summer has slowed down this fall, his shoulder fully healed, his season still going, and recruiting not being nearly as stressful as before.

"It's been slowing down for me, which is good," said Johnson. "I'm getting to see who really wants me. I have my top three still of Stanford, UCLA and Washington."

Johnson visited Washington officially in September, seeing the Huskies host Stanford.

And he plans to visit Stanford and UCLA officially still.

"I am going to go visit both of them after the season," said Johnson. "I'd prefer to take the trips in December, but it depends, it could be January."

Johnson, though, will likely see both play in the next two weeks.

"I'm trying to go to the Stanford-UCLA game (Thanksgiving weekend), but I'm going to the UCLA-USC game for sure this weekend," said Johnson.

So who is recruiting Johnson the hardest?

"UCLA is recruiting me the hardest, Coach (Demetrice) Martin is recruiting me for UCLA," said Johnson. "Most of the defensive staff at Washington is recruiting me really and Coach (Pete) Alamar is recruiting me for Stanford."

Johnson had originally hoped to announce his decision at the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, but is now going to wait till the very end.

"I'm going to announce on Signing Day," said Johnson.

Johnson missed much of the offseason with a shoulder injury, but he's been healthy for the whole season, and Central will play Bakersfield in the CIF-Central Section D-I quarterfinals on Friday.

"My shoulder is good, and I'm working back to 100%," said Johnson.
