Live eval plus video: James Hearns

Here are some video highlights and some analysis of Gator linebacker commit James Hearns from Tallahassee Lincoln vs Tallahassee Godby.

Tallahassee Lincoln senior linebacker James Hearns has bounced back nicely from an ACL injury sustained a little over a year ago. This kid has unreal size (6-3/230 range), is long, and has plenty of room to fill out once he gets to Gainesville. He's aggressive, physical and plays like he wants to knock someone's head off on every play.

Hearns is slightly stiff but certainly runs well enough to play in the SEC. He gets off blocks and finds the ball. Hearns shows some versatility as well. He can rush the passer and certainly play the run. Hearns got tested on this night by the Godby spread attack in the passing game but showed he has the skills to play in coverage.

This is an intriguing prospect headed to the Gators and looks like a nice fit for that defense. He will remind some of former Florida ‘backer Brandon Spikes. But before it's all said and done this kid will be bigger than Spikes.

Below are some highlights of Hearns from the Lincoln/Godby game from last week.
