Heideman Part of Big Redhawk Weekend

Normal Community (Ill.) offensive tackle Randy Heideman was one of three weekend commitments from Miami (Ohio).

Miami (Ohio) had a big recruiting day on Friday, landing fullback Grant Niemiec and two big offensive linemen for him to run behind, Collin Buchanan and Randy Heideman.

Heideman, a 6'6, 285-lb offensive tackle chose the Redhawks over ten other offers, including some Ivy League opportunities, an indication of his academic prowess.

"I did an official visit last week and was able get spend a lot of quality time with coaches and players. I really like where their football program is headed and their rich traditions. That combined with their highly ranked business school made it a good fit for me."

The staff also made Heideman feel wanted, considering the intensity with which they recruited him.

"They recruited me hard since the spring and I developed a good relationship with Coach Bath, my area guy and the O-Line coach, which makes it exciting to now be a part of the program!"
