Dawgs Land Big Corner

Georgia worked hard to flip Brendan Langley from South Carolina and they did so on Tuesday. The Dawgs landed a good one.

Prospect: Brendan Langley
Hometown: Marietta, Ga.
High School: Kell
Position: Cornerback
Size: 6-1/185
Ranking on Scout: No. 14 CB in the country.
Recruiting Notes: Committed to South Carolina on August 1, but switched to Georgia on Tuesday. He will enroll at UGA in January.

Scouting Report: What jumps out when you scout Langley is his size and speed. He is over 6-feet tall, he has long arms, and he has very good straight-line speed. He was talked to by multiple coaches about playing both sides of the ball and he is athletic enough to do that on the next level. He could play wide receiver, cornerback, or safety. He has good hips, good recovery speed and his length helps him there too, but his reaction time and his footwork are areas he can improve in. He has that football toughness you look for, he welcomes competition, and his natural ability are things easily recognized, so fitting into the SEC will not be a problem for him. Overall, Langley is an athlete that will find his way onto the field at UGA very early. He is a defensive back with speed, he has good range, he can tackle, and he can make plays with his hands.
