Trey Burke -- Burke flirted with going pro last season and the Wolverines have to be thrilled to have the talented sophomore back. A terrific scorer, Burke is also a playmaker who will create for his teammates. Lorenzo Brown will have his hands full with Burke.
Tim Hardaway Jr. -- One of the most efficient players in the country, Hardaway Jr. is averaging 18.2 points per game while shooting 61.8% from the field and 47.6% from the 3-point line. The 6-foot-6 guard is averaging 6.8 rebounds per game.

• Today's game against #18/18 N.C. State is sold out. It marks the second time in four
regular season games U-M has filled Crisler Center to its capacity.
• Michigan will unveil its 2012 Big Ten regular season championship banner in a pregame
ceremony.
• This season marks the 14th edition of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The ACC won
the first 10 Challenges; however, the Big Ten has captured each of the last three
Commissioner's Cups.
• Michigan has a 4-7 all-time record in 11 Big Ten/ACC Challenge appearances. The
Wolverines did not participate in the event in 2001 or 2002.
• N.C. State owns a 5-7 all-time record in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Wolfpack are
1-5 all-time in road game in the Challenge.
• With a 71-57 victory over Kansas State, Michigan won its first NIT Season Tip-Off for
the first time in program history. En route to the NIT Season Tip-Off title, U-M, who
hosted the North Regional at Crisler Center, defeated IUPUI (91-54) and Cleveland
State (77-47) to advance to New York. Playing at Madison Square Garden, U-M defeated
Pittsburgh (67-62) in the semifinal and Kansas State (71-57) in the championship.
• Tim Hardaway Jr. was named the NIT Season Tip-Off Most Outstanding Player, while
Trey Burke was named to the All-Tournament team.
• Nik Stauskas was named the Big Ten's Freshman of the Week as he helped U-M to
the NIT Season Tip-Off title. Coming off the bench he averaged 12.5 points and 4.5
rebounds, while shooting 50.0 percent (7-for-14) from the floor and 42.0 percent from
long range (3-for-7) while going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line.
A LOOK AT BIG TEN/ACC CHALLENGE
• This season marks the 14th edition of the Big Ten/
ACC Challenge. The ACC won the first 10 Challenges
however the Big Ten has captured each of the last
three Commissioner's Cups.
• Michigan has a 4-7 all-time record in 11 Big Ten/ACC
Challenge appearances. U-M fell, 70-58, last season
at Virginia. The Wolverines did not participate in the
event in 2001 or 2002.
• Under head coach John Beilein, Michigan is 1-4 in
the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, the lone U-M victory came
on Nov. 30, 2010, a 69-61 win at Clemson.
• Michigan is 2-3 all-time at home in Big Ten/ACC
Challenge games and will be making its first home
appearance in the event since 2009. U-M played
back-to-back road games at Clemson in 2010 and at
Virginia in 2011.
• Tuesday’s meeting will be the third Big Ten/ACC Challenge matchup between Michigan and
N.C. State. The Wolverines defeated the Wolfpack, 68-61, in Ann Arbor on Dec. 2, 2003. N.C. State
defeated U-M, 74-67, in Raleigh on Nov. 27, 2006.
• This season’s meeting with N.C. State will make the Wolfpack Michigan’s most frequent Big Ten/
ACC Challenge foe with three total games. The only other teams U-M has faced twice in the Big
Ten/ACC Challenge are Boston College and Georgia Tech.
• N.C. State owns a 5-7 all-time record in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Wolfpack are 1-5 all-time
in road game in the Challenge. Last season, the Wolfpack fell to Indiana, 86-75.
CAPTURING THE NIT SEASON TIP-OFF CROWN
• With a 71-57 victory over Kansas State, Michigan won its first NIT Season Tip-Off . En route to the
NIT Season Tip-Off title, U-M, who hosted the North Regional at Crisler Center, defeated IUPUI (91-
54) and Cleveland State (77-47) to advance to New York. Playing at Madison Square Garden, U-M
defeated Pittsburgh (67-62) in the semifinal and Kansas State in the championship game.
• Michigan had competed in the NIT Season Tip-Off on three different occasions -- 1986, 1995 and
2004. Prior to this year, U-M was 0-4 in final round games played at Madison Square Garden. U-M
broke the streak with its 67-62 semifinal win over Pittsburgh.
• With 23 points, seven rebounds, a block and a steal in the championship game, Tim Hardaway
Jr. earned Most Outstanding Player honors for the NIT Season Tip-Off . In the four games, he averaged
16.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists, while shooting 57.8 percent from the field.
• Trey Burke earned NIT Season Tip-Off All-Tournament honors after averaging 15.3 points, 6.5 assists
and 3.8 rebounds in the four games.

• Michigan is currently averaging 81.2 points per game. Only one other time has a John Beilein led
team finished the season averaging above 80 points per game (82.9, 1987-88 at LeMoyne). Under
Beilein at Michigan the highest season average was 66.9 in 2008-09.

• Michigan is averaging 41.6 rebounds per game and has out-rebounded its opponents by 14.0

• Nik Stauskas is shooting 58.8 percent (10-of-17) on three-point field goals and has knocked down
at-least one long range bucket in five straight games.
• Nik Stauskas has missed just one free throw this season as he is 16-for-17 on the season. Stauskas'
only miss was when he was fouled on a three-point field goal against Cleveland State. After a media
timeout he missed the free throw and the chance for the four-point play.
• Eso Akunne has come off the bench in U-M's first five games and gone 3-for-3 from long range.
In fact, prior to his foot injury last season at Purdue, he is 7-for-8 (87.5 percent) on three point field
goals -- a span of 17 games.
• When Michigan scores 80-or-more points, the Wolverines are a perfect 20-0 in the John Beilein era.
• When Michigan scores 70-or-more points, the Wolverines are 56-4 in the John Beilein era, including
23-1 in Big Ten play.
• Michigan has only two players with a double-double -- Tim Hardaway Jr. (4) and Jordan Morgan (1).
