Ragin Getting Close

Wilsonville (Ore.) outside linebacker Johnny Ragin is getting close to making his college decision. He laid out his plans for the next couple weeks…

Wilsonville (Ore.) outside linebacker Johnny Ragin recently took an official visit to Colorado.

"I went down there with my teammate Tanner Shipley," said Ragin. "The campus was nice, good football and academic facilities. It was a tough loss, but they are a young team."

A lot has happened since his Boulder visit. His teammate Tanner Shipley committed to BYU and Colorado announced a coaching change.

"Coach McGhee was actually here on Sunday when it happened," said Ragin. "We talked and I am still interested. It will be cool to see who the new coach is."

Colorado is far from the only school showing the 6'3" 215lbs prospect attention.

"Coach Poppinga from BYU is coming on Thursday and Nevada is coming next month," said Ragin. "I am headed to Nevada this weekend for an official visit and to California on December 7th.

Does his teammate committing to BYU give the Cougars the advantage?

"We have always said it would be cool to play together," said Ragin. "BYU is the right fit for him, we'll see if it is right for me."
