Upcoming Visits for Lauderdale

FOX Sports NEXT is in the streets this fall to bring you all the coverage from across the Midlands region. Recently, we caught up with Bellaire wide receiver Devin Lauderdale from Houston, Texas. The Texas Tech commitment let us know what all of the talk was about a visit…

It's been a while since Houston (TX) Bellaire wide receiver Devin Lauderdale made the call and committed to Texas Tech. And though there has not been much talking on his end, that still seems to be the case.

"I'm still with Tech. I talk with the coaches almost every day," Lauderdale said. "I like the idea that the program is building and going in the right direction."

Next month, the 5-foot-10, 175-pound Lauderdale will make his official visit to Lubbock on January 18. But it seems like the visits won't stop there.

Lauderdale said that a couple more programs would be getting visits also.

"West Virginia and California have been talking to me. I don't know when, but I plan of visiting both of these schools also."

For the Texas Tech fans wondering what's happening here, Lauderdale did admit that his interest in these programs was only 80 percent. This past season, as a receiver and return specialist, he had 1,025 yards and 14 total touchdowns."
