Eastlake HS RB Aaron Baltazar (Chula Vista, CA) verbally committed to Boise State a few months ago and has had an unbelievable senior season both from an individual standpoint and a team standpoint. He has rushed for 1,700+ yards and 20 TDs while leading his team to the CIF Finals. So, what are his thoughts heading into the big game?

"I've put it all out there for my team," he said. "We've lost three games but we're playing well at the right time and I'm looking forward to CIF this week," he added.

"I don't like to put too much pressure on myself," he stated. "Individually, I'm pretty satisfied with what I've done. I play Safety as well. I think it really comes down to mental conditioning. I'd say it's about 20% conditioning and 80% mental. You have to take it play by play and series by series."

"The main reason I committed to Boise State was the academics," said Baltazar. "The whole time I was up there on my visit they didn't talk about football. It was about building character and building me as a man. It was about structure. I liked that a lot."

And Boise State's great RB tradition?

"Actually, it was more about the depth chart," he said. "They have a great history with RBs, but they're losing a senior after this year and are also playing a redshirt freshman and a true freshman. I think I can come in and compete with those guys for playing time."

"They have a great RB rotation that keeps the defense on its toes," he said. "They put their freshmen in a position to succeed too. You're going to play if you're ready. That's another thing I liked."

"I'm 100% committed."

He went on to say that he was "in awe" to be able to sit down with Head Coach Chris Petersen.

"I was in awe," he said. "He's one of the winningest coaches in college football. I've always wanted to meet him, but the big thing was that he was a real good person too. He treats everyone the same. It doesn't matter who you are. My parents loved him too."

So, what can Bronco fans expect to see from Aaron Baltazar?

"As a RB, I can't really categorize myself," he said. "I like to think that I can do it all," he added.
