Get to know Cougar commit, Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic safety, Dallin Leavitt.

What is the status of your commitment to BYU? I am 100% committed to BYU.

Major reason(s) for choosing the Cougars? Major reasons are the atmosphere; it feels right and I love the coaching staff more than anything. I would do anything for them and I haven't even had a chance to play for them yet. It's incredible how close they make you feel to them, and how they make you feel like family.

What do you want to major in? I will probably major in business or try to become a physical therapist.

Favorite hobby outside of sports? My favorite hobby outside of sports is probably wake boarding or snow boarding. I'm not able to go as hard on either of them because of sports and trying to protect my body, but I love both of those things with a passion.

Favorite place to eat? Rocky's Hawaiian Grill

Favorite movie? Remember the Titans/Friday Night Lights/Step Brothers

What sports did you play growing up? I played football, basketball and track all the way through my freshman year in high school then dropped basketball and dropped track after my sophomore year. I used to play baseball when I was younger, but I would get too bored and literally fall asleep in the outfield.

Athlete you try to model your game after? I try to model my game after Ed Reed and Sean Taylor, hard hitter F/S that cover better then anyone in the league but will also come down hill and knock your head off. I try to be the do it all safety.

Former Cougar you look up to? Austin Collie, he's at a place where I want to be and he got there with doing the right things on and off the field. Also my dad, he was a phenomenal player but never had a chance to play at the next level because he broke his neck. Everything he's ever gotten in his life he has worked for and I respect him as a father and as a human being more then anyone else in this world.

Favorite professional sports team? Baltimore Ravens

What are your pregame rituals? I listen to Reggae before every game to try to stay calm and in my zone, so I dont get over hyped. Also, the night before I take a hot bath and don't get out until I drink half a gallon of water.

Favorite pre-game meal? Spaghetti and bread, simple but gets me ready to go.

Favorite BYU uniform combination? Black and blue jerseys they wore against OSU, those were clean.

Who's your hero, and why? My hero is my mom and dad. Everything that they do for me day in and day out and all the sacrifice that goes into raising me, my two little sisters and little brother shows how much they love us and know they're willing to do anything for us.

What is your biggest accomplishment yet? Getting a scholarship to BYU. It's been my dream school since I was a baby and I've always wanted to wear those jerseys, just like my dad.

Do you have a saying or motto that you live your life by? No motto, but I always am wanting to impact someone in a positive way; be a leader and someone who people can lean on and trust with whatever it is that's going on in their lives.

What's something most people don't know about you? I'm an Eagle scout.
