"We lost first round of the playoffs on the last drive of the game," Carter said. "That was really tough but we still had a great year. Individually I had 52 catches for 801 yards with nine receiving touchdowns and one rushing touchdown."
"Minnesota had a good year, I feel like it was a step in the right direction for them. Coach had his first class come in and I feel like the more recruits he gets the better the team will be."
Carter says he stays in close contact with his recruiting coach.
"I talk to Coach Reeves about once or twice. We have a good relationship, we have long conversations about football and a lot of things. He came in for a home visit last Tuesday. He met my family and it went real good."
With his commitment, Carter says all the others have backed completely off from recruiting him.
"Schools aren't really contacting me that much anymore. When they do I tell them my commitment to Minnesota is 100% solid."
The standout receiver took his official visit already, and all that's left to do is sign the papers.
"I took my official visit to Minnesota on Sep 22 when they played Syracuse. I loved it, the atmosphere was great, it was a huge campus, I enjoyed the players, and it seemed like a great place for me to prosper. They also have a great Medical Research program and I want to study either kinesiology or physical therapy."
