First unofficial trip to Clemson

One of the top defensive ends in the class of 2014 was in Clemson last month for the South Carolina game.

DE Lorenzo Carter Profile

Norcross High School [Ga.] junior defensive end Lorenzo Carter had been to Clemson for basketball tournaments, but never as a guest of the football program.

His trip for the South Carolina game was a positive experience.

"It was good. I had a great time," Carter told CUTigers in a recent interview. "I got to talk to coach [Tony] Elliott. I didn't really get a chance to see a lot of the facilities. I walked by the weight room when we were walking down to the field. That was pretty cool.

"[Elliott] I'd get to see more when I come back for Junior Day."

The Junior Day that Carter will return for is in January. As for his experience in November, Carter was able to get a good sense of what life on game day is like in Tigertown.

"It was crazy. We pulled up, I was sleeping on the way there, but when we pulled up I could tell we were there, because of all the tailgaters outside of the stadium," he said. "We had to walk through the actual tailgaters to get to the stadium. That was pretty cool how everybody was so involved and into the game."

The final moments before kickoff were also impressive.

"When they ran down the hill, that was awesome. It was crazy," Carter said.

This season, he also visited Florida State, Alabama and Georgia Tech.

Carter has 14 offers, including Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State.

So far this season, he has 116 tackles, eight sacks and four forced fumbles.
