Rangers Winterball Roundup – 11/29

Thursday was a light day for Rangers prospects in the Caribbean winterball leagues, as only a handful of players saw action. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action in the Texas Rangers' system.

Arizona Fall League: Surprise – Season Over

The Saguaros didn't qualify for this year's Arizona Fall League Championship Game after finishing second place in the AFL's West Valley Division.

The following Rangers prospects saw action for Surprise this fall––RHP Ben Henry, LHP Jimmy Reyes, RHP Ryan Rodebaugh, RHP Ben Rowen, RHP Joe Van Meter, C Kellin Deglan, C/1B Brett Nicholas, INF Hanser Alberto, 1B Chris McGuiness, and INF Luis Sardinas.



Dominican Winter League


There were no games in the Dominican Republic on Thursday.



Venezuelan Winter League


Yangervis Solarte, who recently re-signed with the Rangers on a minor league deal, batted leadoff and played in left field for Aragua on Thursday. At the plate, Solarte saw his batting average dip to .264 after he singled once in five at-bats.

Lara base running and defensive specialist Guilder Rodriguez appeared as a pinch-runner in the top of the ninth inning, and he was caught stealing at second base later in the frame. Rodriguez remained in the game at second but didn't get a plate appearance.



Liga Paralela (Venezuela Minor League)


Caracas DH Tomas Telis, who batted fifth on Thursday, went 1-for-5 with an RBI. Shortstop Edwin Garcia struck out once in three hitless at-bats while Santiago Chirino went 0-for-1. Chirino replaced Garcia at shortstop late in the contest.

Elio Castillo appeared as a pinch-hitter for Magallanes and singled in his only plate appearance.



Mexican Pacific League


No Rangers appeared in Mexico on Thursday.



Puerto Rican Winter League


No Rangers appeared in Puerto Rico on Thursday.



Australian Baseball League


As usual, the Australian Baseball League is taking the midweek off before returning to action on the weekend.
