Wolitarsky set to check out San Jose State

Canyon Country (Calif.) Canyon wide out Drew Wolitarsky had a record breaking high school career and could be closing in on making his college decision as well.

Drew Wolitarsky finished his senior season at Canyon as the most prolific receiver in state history. He broke former USC and current St. Louis Ram receiver Steve Smith's career records for receptions and yards. He finished his senior year with 89 catches for 1,275 yards and 14 touchdowns and added more score on an 84 yard kickoff return.

On the recruiting front, Wolitarsky has visited Minnesota and Army and will head to San Jose State this weekend.

"Drew is looking forward to seeing San Jose State," Wolitarsky's father John said. "San Jose State is close to home and were a top 25 program this past year so there is definitely some allure for Drew.

"He really liked Minnesota and Coach Sawvel was at the house last week. We were really impressed with what they have to offer, both in terms of the future of the football program and the education they offer. The coaches at Minnesota feels he's very similar to Eric Decker and that's not a bad person to be compared to."

Wolitarsky said UCLA has shown some interest of late as well. A final decision, according to the family, could be made sometime after Christmas.
