Focus 2016: Peyton Williams

Read further to meet 2016 linebacker/running back Peyton Williams. He's out of Marshall County High School in Lewisburg, Tennessee...

Rugged freshman Peyton Williams is a player to watch.

The 5-foot-11, 220-pounder attends the same school that produced NFL linebacker Dont'a Hightower (Alabama).

"Peyton is blessed with athleticism," father Roger Williams said. "He plays linebacker, fullback and some tailback. The coaches have talked about making him a feature tailback.

"He mostly plays middle linebacker but I think it's probable he'll be outside in college. His coach told Peyton that he has the opportunity to be one of the best football players to ever come through here."

Peyton's early aspirations involve the Southeastern Conference.

"His goal is to play in the SEC," dad said. "Tennessee, of course, is his dream. He's visited Vanderbilt and likes them and Mississippi State. I recently talked to Mississippi State's recruiting coordinator.

"Football awareness is one of his strengths. He reads plays well pre-snap. We've concentrated on the little things and fundamentals since day one. He's a form tackler."

The freshman moves well, too.

"People see how big he is and are often surprised by his athleticism," dad said.
