Quick Hitter: Cook on Tennessee offer

Jonathan Cook has had a memorable week, going from his state championship win to the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic, and he reeled in a big offer from Tennessee in the process.

Jonathan Cook is having a pretty good week. He led the Spanish Fort (Ala.) Toros to the 5A state championship on Thursday, he began practice at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic Tuesday and earned a scholarship offer from Tennessee on Wednesday.

"I'm excited," the three-star cornerback prospect said. "It's a good program. Coach (Tommy) Thigpen was recruiting me from Auburn then he got the job at Tennessee.

"He offered me today, this morning."

The Nebraska commit has talked about taking official visits elsewhere now that his season is over, and the Vols may be on that short list very soon.

Said Cook on potentially visiting, "Most definitely, I will. I think Reuben (Foster) and a couple of DBs, Marquez (White)and Kamryn (Melton)...we're all going to go up there.

Each of the players Cook mentions are also on the All-Star Classic roster for Team Alabama. Foster is the No. 2 prospect in the class of 2013, who recently de-committed from Auburn. White is committed to Florida State and Melton is an Auburn verbal at this time.
