Mississippi All-Star: Wes Windham

Wes Windham was one of the most prolific passers in Mississippi for the 2012 season. The Ocean Springs standout is part of the Mississippi All-Star team looking to college a win over their neighbors to the east from Alabama. Windham has been impressive this week. The talented signal caller believes the team is beginning to come together.

"Things have gone good," said Windham. "The first day, we were just getting things under our belt.

"Today we started gelling more and learning the offense."

Windham comes from a pass happy scheme at Ocean Springs, so he is not shy about throwing the football.

This week, Windham has enjoyed throwing to an All-Star cast of wideouts.

"We have a bunch of good route runners and they can all go make plays down the field," said Windham. "We have good backs and a good offensive line too.

"The offense is a little different for me, but I am starting to adjust and get things under my belt."

Offensive coordinator Jamie Mitchell has not pulled any punches with his offensive players.

Windham reports that the players respect that and feel it is preparing them to do battle on Saturday.

"I like it," said Windham. "I want to know what I am doing wrong, so we can win the game on Saturday."

Several schools have shown some measure of interest in the well mannered Windham and he will soon have to make a decision.

"I have offers from three or four junior colleges, Mississippi College and Millsaps," said Windham. "I am going to wait and see what happens after this week and then I am going to make a decision.

"I still have baseball season too. I don't have any offers in baseball yet, but I am hearing from a lot of schools."
