Three trying to get UCF commit to visit

Shaquem Griffin is a talented safety prospect from Lakewood High and Scout caught up with him to discuss the latest.

Shaquem Griffin committed to UCF recently and he talked about the season the Knights had.

"I think UCF's season went real good, they have some little things to work on, but I feel like they can definitely have a good season next year."

Griffin, 6-feet and 185 pounds, sees a good chance to go in and play right away next season. He talked about that.

"Their free safety is a senior right now, so going in as a freshman next year I definitely have the opportunity to earn a starting role."

Despite his commitment, three other schools are still trying to convince him to visit. Nothing has been set though.

"Houston, Cincinnati, West Virginia want my brother and I to visit," he said. "I don't have any scheduled right now."

How strong is his commitment? He talked about it.

"I have a pretty good solid commitment right now, UCF is definitely my first choice. I like the players and staff. But my decision won't be final until signing day."

Griffin's twin brother, Shaquill, is also committed to the Knights and any visits will be taken together.
