Barnes solid to Duke

Johnell Barnes committed to Duke last summer and has remained true to his pledge. The 2013 wide receiver says he's still hearing from other schools but it will be tough to pull him away from the Blue Devils. Barnes and his parents visited Durham earlier this month and he says it couldn't have gone better. Get the latest right here.

While several schools are still after Johnell Barnes, right now, he is all Duke.

"I am solid to Duke, but I'm still getting phone calls from South Florida, Western Kentucky, Iowa State, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest," he said.

"I'm talking to them, I can hear what they have to say but I doubt it's going to change my mind."

The 6-foot, 175-pound Dunbar (Fort Myers, FL) standout took his official visit to Duke earlier this month and said it only solidified his commitment.

"It was very pleasing. I had a great time, my parents had a wonderful time," he said.

"I just felt like I was welcomed. That's where I wanted to be and the coaches accepted me. It just felt like home."

Barnes said he's been keeping a close eye on the Duke football team this season and was impressed with how the Blue Devils performed.

"I think they did a wonderful job actually, I mean, they made a bowl. They haven't made a bowl in a long time. I'm proud of them for that," he said.

At this point, he doesn't plan to take any other visits. Stay tuned to FOX Sports NEXT for the latest.
