The Texas Aggie basketball team announced Friday that reserve post Keith Davis has left the team. Davis had lost playing time to walk-on Jared Johns in recent weeks.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -
Texas A&M
men's basketball head coach Billy Kennedy announced Friday that junior
Keith Davis
is no longer with the program.
A 6-foot-10 center from DeSoto, Texas, Davis played in 66 games during his Aggie career, averaging 1.1 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest.
Originally from Desoto (TX), Davis was a promising post man and recruited heavily by both Texas A&M and the Texas Longhorn staff. However, Davis struggled to develop in his 2-plus seasons with the Aggies. While his length allowed for some blocks and defensive stops, his offensive game struggled significantly with his problems to hold on to the ball in traffic.
The transfer leaves Coach Kennedy with eight eligible scholarship players for the remainder of the season and only three inside scholarship players.
Texas A&M basketball returns to action Saturday when it hosts Southern in a 3 p.m. contest at Reed Arena.
