Oaks Christian linebacker Cameron Judge says he is still "pretty solid" in his commitment to UCLA even despite recently scheduled visits to Oregon State and Arizona State.
"My dad got me to take those visits," he explained. "He said his
biggest regret when he was recruited was not taking more visits."
Judge's father, Doug, was a three-time All-American defensive back
at Oregon from 1982-1985 after decommitting from Nebraska. He later
became known as a television
Greg Biggins' FOX Sports Next scouting report reads that Cameron
Judge, a four-star recruit, is a "huge hitter who runs well and
plays with an edge. He has a nice motor and has improved his overall
athleticism and cover skills. He plays with a high football IQ and
does a nice job directing the defense."
Judge has been impressed with UCLA's resurgence under first-year
head coach Jim Mora. The Bruins have enjoyed solid play at his
linebacker position this season from standouts Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks and have also secured the commitment of 2013 four-star
Texan Deon Hollins at the position.
Should Judge be swayed to Arizona State, he'd join Rancho Cucamonga
twins Alani and Viliami Latu -- Cal State Game teammates -- in the Sun Devils' 2013 linebacker
recruiting class. Meanwhile, Oregon State -- Judge's other scheduled
January visit site -- currently has two commitments at the position,
both of the two-star ranking.
As it currently stands, Judge still seems keen on UCLA -- at least based on his comments after
Saturday's Cal State Game. He expressed appreciation at the
opportunity to play behind fellow Bruins' commit Kenneth Clark, who
dominated from the defensive tackle position in the South's 19-14
victory. Stay tuned to FOX Sports Next throughout the month of
January to see if the Sun Devils or Beavers are able to impress
Judge enough to lure him away from Westwood.
