Kansas City (Mo.) Center High School defensive tackle Maliek Collins missed a chance in December to visit Nebraska. Collins wrestles for Carter and a meet ran long. Collins says that he will visit Lincoln in January.
"I am going to visit Nebraska on January 4th through 6th," Collins said. "I wasn't able to make it in December because of wrestling."
This will be the third official visit for Collins after already seeing Missouri and Kansas. Collins says that it might not be the last either. Iowa is a school that recently offered that he is considering visiting.
"I really want to experience the football atmosphere when just walking around and not on a game weekend. I want to see how I am affected by it.
"I visited Lincoln unofficially for the Michigan game. I really didn't get a good chance to talk with Coach Bo Pelini. I want a chance to sit down with him and really get some one on one time to talk about football and Nebraska."
Collins is 6-foot-2 and 285-pounds. He reports that he can run a 4.8/40-yard dash. Collins is rated a three-star prospect by Scout.com and is the No. 57 ranked defensive tackle in the nation.
