Kyrin Priester out of Snellville, Ga., thought he had everything figured out some months ago. My, how things have changed.

"Personally, it was a great season," Priester said. "We made it to the second round but couldn't do anything with them boys. Lassiter was the number one team in Georgia. We just had a lot of injuries, but we can't make than an excuse. They just got the better of us."

Personally Priester feels like he closed his high school career in solid fashion.

"I had over a 1,000 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns. I played receiver, punt and kick return, and played a little at corner. I had a great season. I caught the ball better and did some things after the catch. Made a lot of plays on third-and-long. I made a lot of first downs for our offense and had some key breakups on defense."

The Brookwood two-way standout was named Gwinnett's WR of the Year.

"I wanted to get over a 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns and I surpassed both of those goals. We didn't make it as far as we would've liked in the playoffs. Brookwood is a running school. We don't throw it that much. To go over the 1,000 yard mark in receiving says a lot."

Scout.com's #49 rated receiver committed to N.C. State in October, but its staff was let go. That has left some uncertainty surrounding his recruitment.

"I committed to N.C. State but their coaches got fired. I want to meet their new coaches to see if I want to stay. I've only spoken to them once since they got hired. Ole Miss has been recruiting me really hard right now. Auburn too. I talk to Clemson, FSU, Wake Forest, Mississippi State, and Maryland. I've talked to them all a bunch but the ones who are on me the hardest are Auburn and Ole Miss."

What is Ole Miss saying?

"They want me to come in for an official visit. They are recruiting me as a cornerback. They came to see me play Robert Nkemdiche and those boys at Grayson and liked me at corner. I want to play receiver though. That's what I think I'm best suited for, receiver. They just want me to come in a visit in January. I'll visit Auburn in early January for sure, and then I'm going to Ole Miss the next weekend. I really like coach McGriff at Ole Miss. I told him I'd come in and take a look around."

How important is having the chance to play receiver for Priester?

"It's big because I really do want to play receiver on the next level. I'll play cornerback if I have to. Look, I know the coaches are going to put you where they want to once we report. I'll play wherever the need me. I just hope to get a chance at receiver first."

What's going on with Auburn?

"Coach (Rhett) Lashlee came to my house and talked to my family. I like that he went out of his way to come see me. It is pretty much the coaches I like right now until I get to know the school. They want me to play receiver too, which is good."

What did the new staff at N.C. State say when they spoke to the Georgia native?

"I just want to see if they are honest. They can say anything over the phone. I want to see how they represent NC State. It's really hard because I had a great relationship with their old coaches. For them to leave. That kind of made me want to go to another school, but I want to meet the new guys face-to-face because I make that final decision."
