PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers defensive coordinator Robb Smith coached Logan Ryan for four years and will now watch him take his talents to the NFL. Smith went 1-on-1 with ScarletReport.com to discuss what Ryan brings to the next level and what is left behind him for the 2013 Rutgers defensive secondary.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Though in his first year as Rutgers defensive coordinator, Robb Smith has been a part of the program since Logan Ryan arrived in 2009.

Smith worked as a position coach and special teams coordinator for Ryan and other NFL defensive backs Devin McCourty, Jason McCourty and Courtney Greene. Introducing Ryan for his announcement, Smith discussed what Ryan brings to the NFL and offered thoughts on the 2013 defense.
