Johnson To Announce This Friday
Four-star linebacker Trey Johnson has been back on the market since de-committing from Auburn back in mid-December. Johnson is in Orlando this week participating in the Under Armour All-Star game practices. "This has been great being in Orlando all week, and it's good for me," Johnson stated. "I've been doing well, but I'm not a great player at all, and I have a lot to learn. I need to continue to get better every day, and that's always my goal every time I step on the field." Johnson, 6-foot, 220-pounds, is set to announce his college choice this Friday at the game. He has narrowed his choices to Tennessee, Ohio State and Florida. "I'm now down to Ohio State, Tennessee and Florida," Johnson stated. "With Ohio State, I would love to be able to play in the Michigan game every year, and I loved the atmosphere up there. The depth chart also looks good for me, and I just got a good feel for things when I was up there. My dad was with me on my Ohio State visit, and he loved it. He would be cool with me going far from home, and he just wants me to find the right school." "Florida is just known for great defense, and I think a lot of Will Muschamp," he added. "Tennessee has Coach Thigpen from Auburn, and he was my recruiter when I was committed to them, and we are pretty tight. Auburn has tried to come back at me, but I'm not really listening. I'm excited to get this decision over with, and get ready for college football." FoxSportsNext will continue to track Johnson this week and will be covering his announcement this Friday in St. Petersburg at the Under Armour game.
