Quick Hitter: Edwards looking around

Several Syracuse commits awoke Sunday morning to the news of Doug Marrone reportedly taking the head coaching vacancy with the Buffalo Bills, and one current commit took the next step in setting up a pair of official visits with schools that finished high on his list.

Augustus Edwards has been set on attending Syracuse University for some time. The tree-star running back committed to coach Doug Marrone over the summer, and has rarely re-considered the decision.

However, on Sunday morning, when news began to break about Marrone taking the helm with the Buffalo Bills - Edwards took to social media.

"This is all a shock to me but, I will be taking 3 more official visits before making my college decision," the Staten Island (N.Y.) standout announced on Twitter. "Florida State, Miami, Rutgers."

Edwards later informed FOX Sports NEXT that two of the trips are already scheduled.

"Next week to FSU, Rutgers the 25th," he said.

Edwards has not de-committed from the Orange, though he is going to be diligent late in the process before a final decision is made.

"I'm still committed."
