Rehkow rose to national fame when he hit a 67-yard field goal earlier this season. The kick not only earned him recruiting attention, but some local fame.
"It's been pretty cool, it's been crazy," said Rehkow. "I'll go to a game around here and people will know who I am. They will ask, are you the guy who kicked that field goal?"
Rehkow is considering all three programs that have shown interest, but acknowledged the opportunity to have his tuition paid for might be too much to pass up.
"Definitely having a full ride is something that I am leaning towards, I am leaning there right now," said Rehkow. "Just not having to worry about paying for school."
Rehkow plans to take January visits to both Eastern and Idaho to help him make a tough decision.
"I am planning on visiting them both sometime this month," said Rehkow. "Getting to know some of the coaches and seeing the schools."
Rehkow is currently playing basketball for Central Valley and will have to balance that with making a decision that could impact the next four years of his life.
"It is kind of tough, which program will be the most successful, what will help me in the future as well," said Rehkow. "I have to be a little bit selfish and wonder what I can get out of it as well as how you can help the team."
