Bibbs emerges at CRC

Wing Justin Bibbs is adjusting to his role at Montverde Academy, and at the Cancer Research Classic the talent was on full display.

Ohio native Justin Bibbs has been the go to option on nearly every team he has ever been on before this year. Now at Montverde (Fla.) Academy, Bibbs is coming off the bench, but the 2014 wing is continuing to improve and still has a lot of attention on the recruiting trail.

At the Cancer Research Classic, Bibbs was one of the breakout performers. He stepped up and earned MVP honors for Montverde Academy due to his hot shooting and impressive play. According to Bibbs this year has been a growth process for him.

"I love being with this team," said Bibbs. "The setting down at Montverde is incredible. The team is great and playing with the top guys, I just love it."

He continued, "My game has grown tremendously. I don't know, I have just gotten a lot better. The coaches have been pushing me in every single aspect of the game."

It is no surprise that playing on a talented team like Montverde that his recruiting continues to pick up.

"There are some new schools coming at me," Bibbs explained. "I really don't know all of them, but I have a scholarship from Dayton, Xavier, UCF, Cincinnati, Cleveland State, Northern Kentucky, and Kent State."

For Bibbs having the offer from Dayton is a big deal. He grew up just a few minutes from the campus, and says the opportunity to come back home is a big one.

"It is excellent to know that you can come back home and play," said Bibbs of the Flyers. "They are nice and their style of play fits me well. It is nice."

Just down the highway from Dayton is Xavier, and the Musketeers have also been working hard in this recruitment.

"It is the same way with Xavier," Bibbs noted. "Coach (Chris) Mack wants me and they have a good style for me. Also they do a good job of developing players."

For now Bibbs says he is taking everything slow and is focused on the season, but the three-star prospect does know what he is looking for in any potential school.

"I just look for a place that will help me be a better player and a place where I will be able to win," said Bibbs.
