Clemson heads to Cameron

Ten freshmen and sophomores will be making their first appearance in Cameron Indoor Stadium Tuesday night when Clemson plays No. 1 Duke.

WHAT: Clemson at Duke
WHERE: Cameron Indoor Stadium - Durham, N.C.
WHEN: Tuesday, January 8 (7:02 p.m.)
SPREAD: Clemson +16.5
TV: ESPNU (Tom Hart, Len Elmore)

Devin Booker and Milton Jennings are the only two players on the Tigers' roster with on court experience at Duke.

"The gym is just so small," Booker said. "The crowd is always into it, so it's like it's a million people there when it's really not a million. It's definitely a hard place to play."

As Clemson head coach Brad Brownell noted, the team on the court isn't too shabby either.

"They're deserving, being No. 1 in the country," he said. "They've beaten just about three or four top 10 teams, a couple of teams that have been in the top five."

Among the teams that Duke [14-0, 1-0 ACC] has beaten this season include Kentucky, Minnesota, VCU, Louisville, Ohio State, Davidson and Wake Forest.

"Certainly, Mason Plumlee's development, this year, I think he's playing as well as anybody in the country…that's really helped their team from the standpoint of giving them that inside and outside game," Brownell said. "They've always been able to shoot the 3 well."

This year, the Blue Devils are hitting 3's at an impressive rate.

Of the 259 shots Duke has taken from downtown, they've converted on 109. That's 42 percent, which is sixth-best in the country.

"Seth Curry and Ryan Kelly are tremendous shooters. Quinn Cook has really improved this year and is playing great at the point. And [Rasheed] Sulaimon has come in and taken over for [Austin] Rivers," Brownell said. "They're just playing with a lot of confidence. They play very hard, execute their stuff really well and certainly will be the biggest of challenges for our team."
