Schools Still on Ragin

Even after his commitment to BYU, schools haven't stopped pursuing Wilsonville (Ore.) outside linebacker Johnny Ragin…

Wilsonville (Ore.) outside linebacker Johnny Ragin committed to BYU back in December, but his recruiting process is far from over.

"I'm still committed, but Iowa and California are making a big push," said Ragin. "I did an in-home with Iowa and coach Barry Sacks came in for Cal on an in-home. I am looking forward to taking visits."

Ragin held an offer from California when he chose BYU, but Iowa was a team that hadn't come into the picture until late.

"I was offered by Iowa on the in-home," said Ragin. "The previous staff had offered me at Cal and the new staff came in and held it up."

"Iowa is looking at me as a traditional outside linebacker," said Ragin. "Cal is looking at me as a defensive end/outside linebacker hybrid role."

Ragin is now planning three official visits in January to take a look at each of his final three schools.

"I have a visit set with Cal this weekend, the 11th," said Ragin. "I am headed to BYU on the 18th and Iowa on the 25th."

Stay tuned to for the latest on Ragin and his upcoming official visits.
