Key Ready for More Interest

FOX Sports NEXT spoke with Broken Arrow quarterback Coleman Key at the US Army All-American Combine in San Antonio, Texas. He gave us a quick recruiting update in between sessions…

Look for things to start picking up quickly for Broken Arrow (OK) quarterback Coleman Key. Right now he only holds one offer from Arkansas State, but more will start coming after a solid junior season.

"I started out slow. This was my first year as a starter, but my last couple of games coming down the stretch I ended up doing really well. I was happy with my overall season," Coleman, who finished with over 1,900 passing yards, said.

He recently competed in the US Army All American Bowl Combine in San Antonio, TX, where he got the chance to show his skills. Aside from passing the eye ball test at 6-foot-5, 224 pounds, Key had a strong arm and was able to connect on a variety of throws, a trait that college coaches looks for in a great signal caller.

"There is a lot of competition out here and just trying to show what I can do," Key said.

With recruiting, Key, as stated has an Arkansas State offer, but looks to visit (unofficially) to Oklahoma, Indiana, Oklahoma State and Duke

He looks for things increase as coaches start making the last-minute rounds before signing day and even more so when spring practices get going.

"Things are going well and I know that things are going to pick up soon with all of these schools finishing up with the bowl games," Key said. "I'm excited to get back to school and get with these coaches."

Key said that he is also getting mail from LSU, Oregon and Arkansas.
