Two visits set for Bowens

Kwamane Bowens is the top senior wide receiver in Virginia. The talented Virginia Beach (Va.) Salem playmaker has set up two official visits and is getting closer to making a decision.

After receiving double-digit scholarship offers, Kwamane Bowens is entering the home stretch of his recruitment.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Salem standout has two official visits set.

"I know he has official visits scheduled to ODU and Cincinnati," said Salem offensive coordinator Dontrell Leonard. "I think he is taking his official to ODU on Jan. 26, but I don't know when he is going to Cincinnati. I talked Coach (Blake) Rolan from Cincinnati last week and he's supposed to come down this week or next week to set something up."

Three other schools are still recruiting him and Leonard said he thinks one of them will get an official visit before Bowens make his decision.

"Texas A&M, East Carolina, and Virginia Tech are still recruiting him," said Leonard. "He has offers from all of those schools, too. I would say of those schools, he will probably visit Virginia Tech before he makes his decision."

Each of the five schools has continued to pursue him pretty steadily, but one seems to be out in front at this time.

"I think all of the schools are recruiting him about the same," Leonard said. "But I would probably say Cincinnati is probably standing out to him more than the others."

Leonard said Bowens does not have a set date for his decision, but he did say that the three-star wide receiver would make his commitment by Signing Day.
