It was Saturday night that Temecula (Calif.) Linfield Christian point guard Torin Webb was on hand to see San Diego State defeat Colorado State 79-72 in overtime at Viejas Arena.
"It was cool," Webb said. "The crowd was crazy which I loved. The team played together well. It was a very good environment."
The sophomore was able to check out the locker room after the game.
"It was cool because bunch of people went back there," Webb described. "I got to talk to coach Steve [Fisher] and all that stuff so it was a good experience."
The 6-foot-1 and 155-pound guard was one of the standouts at the San Diego Super 80 Showcase presented by Area Codes and Gamepoint Basketball.
"I'm a good player," Webb said of his game. "I always try to play with my team. I lead my team by example and I feel I play great defense."
This season Webb is averaging 15.1 points, 3.2 assists and 2.8 steals per game but he feels there is much to improve upon.
"Mainly seeing the court better," Webb explained. "People say I see the court well for my age but I feel like I can get better at that. Also my ball handling because I had to move to point guard position after my friend passed so I've been working on that a lot more."
UTEP was at one of Webb's practices earlier this week.
