Rising Senior Staying Patient

Head Coach Brooks Thompson and his staff may not have to go very far to find the heir apparent to departing senior Mike Hale. Right down Loop 1604 is Brandeis senior point guard Justin Graham and he continues to show why D1 programs are starting to be regulars at Bronco games and practices.

A little over two weeks ago Brooks Thompson did take in the John Jay vs Brandeis game to watch Graham in action. Justin did struggle in the first half, but was able to respond with a strong second half effort to finish with 22 points and 6 assists. Most importantly, he lead his team to an 82-51 victory.

In large part to Graham, the Broncos are currently the #2 ranked team in the Greater SA Area and have a 24-2 overall record, (8-1 in district). He averages just under 15 points as leading scorer.

Although Graham does not yet have an offer, programs appear close to pulling the trigger. With utsa, and Head Coach Brooks Thompson visiting, there is consideration. Current WAC foe, UTA has stepped up their efforts. Kansas State has paid a visit, so has A&M-Corpus, Long Island and others. Many programs are becoming quite familiar with Justin as the regular signing period looms in April.

Graham is a legit 6'1" point guard, and is weighing in around 175lbs. He has a good stroke and can shoot from deep. Against Stevens HS, he went 3 for 4 from downtown and each attempt was a foot to two behind the line. Very good handles and has an explosive first step.

He is a true point guard and is smooth in action. Whether penetrating to get to the rim or kicking it out to the open shooter. He stays under control and plays within his game. Displays leadership ability and is vocal on the floor. Many times against Stevens he would discuss sets or adjustments with teammates in preparation to come right back down the floor.

This Brandeis floor general is just waiting on his first offer and when it comes, he'll have more decisions to make.
