Nebraska offers Young

John Curtis Christian junior LB Kenny Young received two BCS offers over the past five days...

Nebraska extended a 2014 offer this evening when linebackers coach Ross Els spoke with John Curtis Christian blue-chipper Kenny Young.

"Coach Els wanted me to call him," said Young, ranked as the 11th-best outside linebacker in his class.

"He liked my film and how I'm athletic. He said all the Nebraska coaches like me and how I move around the field."

John Curtis has produced a couple of Cornhusker signees over the past few years.

"I know Nebraska has the safety, P.J. Smith, from Curtis," Young said, and "Walker Ashburn also went there."

Ole Miss was first to offer Young, who added an LSU offer last Saturday during the Tigers' junior day.

"I'm excited to get this new offer," he said. "It feels good. Coach Els told me to keep in touch."

Young ranked third on the team in tackles for Curtis, which captured the national championship as determined by Director of Scouting Scott Kennedy.

The junior says he's not sure which program will offer next.
