Arkansas' new coaching staff has made it clear that it wants to land some big-time offensive lineman both in this class and in the future.
That certainly happened on Saturday when Honolulu (OL) St. Louis High School standout Reeve Koehler (6-3, 330) confirmed he intends he intends to sign with the Razorbacks.
"It's his choice and he is very happy with it," noted Rick Koehler, the prospect's dad. "He's very happy with it and that makes uys all happy."
Koheler - currently on his official visit to Arkansas - chose the Razorbacks over co-finalist Kansas after also considering Tennessee, Oregon and California among others.
The elder Koehler described his son's play this way earlier this week.
"I would say that a dad would be your toughest critic, but I know that he does some things very well and that is why these schools are interested," Koehler said. "He is a good kid and very quiet off the field, but a whole different person on it.
"He is really aggressive, nasty and has a mean streak in him when he is on the field," Koehler added. "He just really gets after his man and doesn't show him any mercy."
Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema has made it clear his philosophy starts with line play.
"We put priority on recruiting along the offensive and defensive lines." Bielema said during an interview on Sports Talk With Bo Mattingly yesterday. "It's like building a house- you don't start building on the second level."
Koehler is the ninth commitment in the 2013 class for Arkansas, who signed five mid-term junior college stars that will also go toward the class limit of 25.
