NLA Houston 100: Kevin Shorter

FOX Sports NEXT spoke with Newton running back Kevin Shorter at the NLA Houston Texas Top 100 Showcase. The future star has already pulled in some Division I offers.

One of the best athletes in house for the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase in Houston was Newton (TX) running back Kevin Shorter

After the day was completed, the 5-foot-11, 177-pound Shorter felt as though he had a good showing, running and catching the ball in the drills. Apparently, he has done as good, if not better work on the field this past fall.

Several college programs have taken notice.

"Texas A&M, Utah and Houston are the schools that have offered me. I have some more schools that are looking at me," Shorter said. "Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas are the other schools that are looking at me."

Last season Shorter was all about the business, rushing for 1,800 yards and 42 touchdowns.

"Things are pretty good for me (in recruiting). The more you do on the field, the more offers you will get," Shorter said. "I see that hard work pays off. For me, I'm just trying to get to the next level."
