Senat talks UK recruitment
Kentucky is hoping to land an official visit from one of the nation's top defensive linemen as national signing day rapidly approaches. Three-star Immokalee (Fla.) High School defensive tackle Deadrin Senat tells KentuckyScout that his relationship with the new UK staff has been growing in recent weeks. "I already knew them since coach (Mark) Stoops and coach (D.J.) Eliot were up at Florida State," said Senat, who was originally committed to the Seminoles. "That makes it easier for me to talk to them about Kentucky right now. I'm comfortable with those guys. "They came to the school last week and they're supposed to come again this week. I think we might talk about setting up a visit." Senat (6-1, 311) is currently rated the No. 36 defensive tackle prospect in the country by FOX Sports and Scout. He earned D-Line MVP honors at both the Under Armour and U.S. Army combines last year and possesses of bench press of 500-plus pounds. "The (UK) coaches tell me I could come in and do good there," Senat said. "They think I could help them early. I like that." His recruitment remains something of a mystery due to the fact that he hasn't done many interviews since decommitting from FSU last May. Asked who's still in the mix, Senat said, "Everybody who has offered." That includes more than 30 major programs. When asked to confirm a list that includes Auburn, Florida State, Miami, North Carolina, N.C. State, Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Purdue, West Virginia, South Florida and Central Floria, Senat said, "Yeah. Those are pretty much the ones, plus a few others." Only two visit weekends remain, however, prior to national signing day, and Senat has yet to take any of his trips. "I'm still trying to decide," he said. "It's an important decision for my future. It's been hard." Kentucky is also recruiting two of his Immokalee teammates, defensive backs Mackensie Alexander and Mackenro Alexander. Mackensie is a four-star cornerback who visited UK unofficially last summer. Mackenro is a three-star safety who reportedly made an official visit to Lexington earlier this month.
