Travis Wright led Trinity to their third straight 6-A championship and did so in impressive fashion. The quarterback threw for 3314 yards and 36 touchdowns this year. He picked up interest from Tennessee-Martin, Butler and Southern Illinois. Now another school is showing interest.
"I am taking an official visit to FIU this coming weekend, "said Wright.
Florida International just stepped on the scene and Wright got to learn a little about them.
"A few days ago they called me. They just hired a whole new staff. Coach (Ron) Turner was with the Buccaneers as quarterback coach last year.
"They also have a great business program. A lot of opportunity for success there. Also it's like a permanent vacation since it's in South Beach," he finished.
This is the only official visit Wright has had planned so far.
