Several UM recruits visiting elsewhere

Several key recruits for Miami will be taking visits to other schools this weekend. Mike Bakas breaks it all down.

Alex Collins -- Arkansas. The five-star running back prospect visited Miami last weekend and then returned for an unofficial visit on Wednesday night for the basketball game. Everything seems to be going in the right direction for Miami but he has a great relationship with one of the Arkansas coaches. Coach Partridge is the main reason why he considered Wisconsin, and he's now at Arkansas. It'll be the second visit Partridge and their head coach will have with Collins. I still like Miami's chances going into the weekend.

Peyton Barber -- Ole Miss. The long-time Rebel commitment will see the school he's been committed to. The Georgia running back was offered by Miami back in November, and is still set to see the Canes next weekend. He may decide to shut down the entire process with a good visit to Ole Miss this weekend. If he doesn't, and stays on schedule with the Miami trip, the Canes will definitely have a chance -- even though it'll be a small one.

Nate Wozniak -- Minnesota. The 6-foot-8 tight end prospect from Indiana visited here last month and came away very impressed. He saw Purdue last weekend, and will see Minnesota this weekend before making a final decision. Distance could be a factor in the end.

Denver Kirkland -- Arkansas. Miami's top remaining offensive line prospect, Kirkland added the Arkansas visit after Randy Shannon got a job on their staff. Shannon, who has a good relationship with Booker T coach Ice Harris, started recruiting Kirkland when he was at TCU. Florida State had been Miami's top competition though, and they just lost his main recruiter to Miami (James Coley). The Canes seem to be in very good shape heading into this weekend.

Keith Bryant -- South Carolina. The four-star defensive tackle prospect visited Miami last weekend but did not re-commit. Florida State continues to be Miami's biggest threat, but South Carolina will get its crack at him this weekend. This one seems like it's going down to the wire.

Jaynard Bostwick -- Florida. The Gators have been Miami's top competition since day one. A Miami fan growing up, Bostwick visited Alabama two weekends ago. He indicated a strong desire to stay closer to home early in the process but has been very quiet about recruiting since the season ended. He saw Miami last weekend. The Gators will get their chance this weekend, but Miami seems to be in good shape here.

Matthew Thomas -- Florida State. Miami's top linebacker target, this five-star player was on Miami's campus the last two days for a visit. He saw Alabama and USC over the previous two weeks and plans to see Georgia next weekend. The interesting part to note here is that Coley was his primary recruiter at Florida State. He's now gone. Miami's main competition here continues to be Alabama, but the addition of Coley certainly has to help Miami's chances.
